Are you looking for a way to help fund your education? Scholarships are a great way to help ease some of your financial burdens, and if you’re a Black student, there are many scholarships designed to assist you!  We are pleased to call for applications for our Annual Congress of Black Women of Canada – Oshawa/Whitby Chapter and Surrounding Areas “Leave a Legacy Scholarship”.  Our scholarships are valued at a minimum of $500.00.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS JULY 14, 2023.

You are eligible to apply if:

You are a Grade 12 student from the Oshawa/Whitby and Clarington Areas,
self-identify as Black and pursuing full-time post-secondary studies in
the Fall semester of the upcoming academic year

Applicants MUST meet the following criteria:

  1. Student must reside in Oshawa, Whitby and Clarington Area
  2. In need of financial assistance
  3. Can demonstrate community assistance

Application Requirements:

  1. Completed application form
  2. Proof of first year registration or acceptance letter into a trades/academic program
  3. A letter of not more than 250 words that will outline your suitability for the “Leave a Legacy Scholarship,” and community involvement (if applicable)
  4. One letter of reference from a teacher, professor or community leader 
  5. One passport size photo
